Epitel is the game-changing digital health company transforming how we understand and monitor brain health! It aims to transform seizure detection and epilepsy management by making brain health monitoring more intelligent, user-friendly, and accessible through advanced wireless EEG and AI technologies.

Their flagship product, REMI™ (Remote EEG Monitoring System), is a groundbreaking wireless EEG platform that received its first FDA clearance in 2021. Think of it as a high-tech guardian for brain health – a wearable, wireless system that can track brain activity wherever you are.

Project Scope and Objectives

The project encompassed:

  • Rebranding REMI website to showcase expanded medical monitoring capabilities
  • Integrate hospital and ambulatory EEG monitoring system information
  • Implement new brand positioning and creative campaign
  • Develop a user-centric digital experience for healthcare professionals and patients
  • Full UI redesign aligning and creating brand guidelines.
  • UX overhaul focused on increasing conversion rates.

The Problem

Epitel’s REMI system, an innovative remote EEG monitoring solution, required a website update to showcase its expanded capabilities for both hospital and ambulatory use. The existing website failed to adequately represent the full REMI portfolio, including the newly FDA-cleared ambulatory version and AI technology.

The Discovery

Through extensive user research and competitive analysis, we discovered that healthcare professionals prioritize easy access to critical information and streamlined communication channels. Our findings highlighted several pain points, including:

  • Difficulty navigating the existing site.
  • Insufficient clinical decision support tools.
  • Lack of mobile optimization, which is crucial for on-the-go healthcare providers.

The Challenge

Due to the client’s budget constraints, I immediately advised the lead account manager that we should include mobile responsive layout screens for several critical reasons.

  • It aligns with our agency’s best practices and commitment to purposeful project delivery.
  • The current site does not have a Wix adaptive theme and, therefore, lacks responsive functionality.
  • Omitting mobile responsiveness would fail to support critical usability and user-centered design principles essential in today’s digital landscape.

While acknowledging the budget limitations, I emphasized that mobile responsiveness is crucial for a comprehensive and practical website update. This approach ensures we deliver a solution that meets current web standards and provides optimal user experience across all devices.

  • Integrate information about both REMI hospital and ambulatory versions into a cohesive website experience
  • Implement the new creative campaign and “UMBRELLA” positioning
  • Create a “soft” update using WIX, considering future plans for a dedicated HTML website
  • Effectively communicate the core benefits of REMI’s portfolio to healthcare professionals and patients
  • Incorporate information about the Vigilenz AI technology for event detection and bedside notifications

The Approach

Our REMI website redesign solution is focused on creating a comprehensive and intuitive user experience. We revamped the architecture with a new home page showcasing the entire REMI portfolio and dedicated pages for ambulatory and hospital systems. AI technology was seamlessly integrated throughout the site. We updated the color palette and added concept art that was aligned with the approved positioning.

The content strategy honed in on approved messaging buckets, emphasizing unmet needs of ambulatory and hospital stays and specific use cases to tell the REMI story effectively. Key brand elements like the “SYNC, SET, and START” process and Vigilenz AI technology were prominently featured.

We tailored the experience for both healthcare professionals and patients, highlighting REMI’s accuracy and compatibility with Persyst Mobile for medical users while emphasizing wireless functionality and extended monitoring capabilities for patients. The redesigned site now truly reflects REMI’s capabilities and value, receiving positive responses from users and industry professionals.

Functional Requirements

The functionality requirements were applied to the final visual designs. Annotating clearly and concisely how each call to action is expected to function to eliminate any assumptions or misinterpretations at the developing stage. Site function feature summary includes all core global desktop and mobile footer navigation.

We learned the importance of balancing immediate needs with plans, maintaining consistent messaging across different use cases, and creating a flexible structure to accommodate evolving product offerings. Our team has successfully transformed the REMI website, creating a comprehensive digital platform that effectively communicates our technological capabilities. By strategically redesigning the site architecture, we developed dedicated pages for ambulatory and hospital systems that showcase the full depth of our medical monitoring solutions. The redesign thoughtfully integrated our AI technology, emphasized our distinctive "SYNC, SET, and START" process, and crafted targeted content that resonates with both healthcare professionals and patients.

We approached this project with precision, carefully updating the visual design with a refined color palette and purposeful concept art that reinforces our brand positioning.
